In virtually any organization, (military or civilian, large or small), there are a number of unsolved small-scale information system problems. They will remain unsolved until we (system analysts and designers) develop a methodology that allows generation of timely and cost-effective automated solutions. The requisite resources exist; they have yet to be combined in the right order for success. It is the primary goal of this research to purpose, justify and demonstrate (through a detailed case...

Abstract Background: The Taenia solium cysticercosis-taeniasis complex is a Neglected Tropical Disease of significant public health importance in many impoverished communities worldwide. The parasite is suspected to be endemic in Lao PDR as a result of widespread risk factors including open human defecation, free ranging pigs and weak systems for meat inspection and carcass condemnation. The primary aim is to compare the accuracy of two different wearable sensor devices to detect alcohol drinking among young adults in a field-based setting, using self-report as the reference standard. The secondary aim is to compare the feasibility and acceptability of the two devices to each other and an alternative procedure (keeping a mobile diary). These will be achieved by observing sensor, self-report, and participant satisfaction data from an ongoing larger study (NCT03658954).

This article is from Breeding Science , volume 64 . Abstract Phomopsis blight in Lupinus albus is caused by a fungal pathogen, Diaporthe toxica. It can invade all plant parts, leading to plant material becoming toxic to grazing animals, and potentially resulting in lupinosis. Identifying sources of resistance and breeding for resistance remains the best strategy for controlling Phomopsis and reducing lupinosis risks. However, loci associated with resistance to Phomopsis blight have not yet been...
